It is a process for sure! I still work as a therapist doing telehealth and I own my own practice which helps with not having to have a company support my wandering soul! I can work anywhere as long as I have a decent internet connection and my laptop. I also have an online wellness business where I have products like journals and courses for mental health and self-healing.

I am going to meditate on this line today…

“what magic might unfold if you finally gave yourself permission to try?”

That just made my day. I think that very thought has led to me making the most daring, boldest and ultimately the most rewarding changes in my life!

Absolutely fantastic article! You made so many good points. My favourite: that taking the leap to follow your dreams is trading "should" for "could". Excellent 👌

Another slam dunk! You are so eloquent at expressing exactly what we are feeling, which is so refreshing. Thank you for addressing the "dance" between parenting and personal growth! I have been haunted by this for a while and finally reconciling with it. Replacing the "shoulds" with "coulds" is another powerful reminder for us all. Truly enjoying your writing.

Thank you so much for this comment! I’ve always felt I had so much to say that might help others with struggles I faced as a mom, woman, wife… but didn’t know how to say it. Living with love for others in equal measure with love for myself has taken me years in learning, growing, and releasing guilt! Your words mean so much to me. Thank you.

Wow, this brought tears to my eyes, especially the bit about personal growth and parenting. As someone who has traveled and lived overseas for a decade (and am planning to incorporate more travel into my family's life) I really have to lean into the idea of possibility and unlearning, like you said. Looking forward to reading more of your nomadic adventures!

I cannot really tell you what your words mean to me. It is my greatest hope that sharing what I am learning about life by living it in a way that many questioned is not only bringing me personal joy and deep meaning but also inspiring others to "unlearn" and lean into the possibilities of life! Thank you for your comment!

Thank you for a very readable and challenging post. We are 2 years away from our youngest child leaving university - my wife works part-time at a school and my work is completely laptop-based. I only have occasional (once every few months) workshops in 2 UK cities ... otherwise I can work anywhere within European data protection laws. We have only just started in the very foothills of conversations like yours.

How far away from your children have you moved ? To a different continent ??

The foothills are a great way to gain perspective! Wonderful conversations to have about designing your life! And yes, different continent but still only about an 8 hour flight so not bad! They are excited to have a fun place to visit…

Excited for you!

I absolutely loved your story. It’s not often I get the chance to hear personal experiences from someone who has already achieved so much in a 'past' life and is now diving headfirst into something completely new. I truly admire that mindset—there’s no time like the present! Just because life has been a certain way doesn’t mean it has to STAY that way.

As a fellow mother, your perspective on setting a courageous example for your kids really speak toe me. It’s such an important reminder and a powerful mantra to live by, showing my own daughter that her momma can do anything! I’m excited to follow along and see your adventures unfold. Subscribing now!

I just love hearing this! Thank you for taking the time to write this to me. You are so right, there is no time like the present! Here's to showing our children not to fear but to take life by the horns and create the life you desire!!

Exactly at this juncture mentally, but not quite practically. What sort of income streams have you managed? That’s the main concern we have. Thank you, looking forward to reading more!

Wow! Powerful thought - The boxes of "just in case" items transformed into trust in future abundance

We've been purging a little at a time. Now I have something else to add to list of what to work on.

And we had soooo many boxes like this! Purging takes time for sure. We had a hard deadline which made it move faster for us!

I wonder if having a hard deadline makes it easier. I don't have one so it's not as pressing. Then again, thanks to your post I'm going to set myself a task to address at least one box or section per week.
